The Orphans

The ones that did not get a start.

Some lose their mothers. Some are rejected. Some just need more than the herd can give.

They are brought in and raised by hand. Bottle fed, watched closely, and checked more often than most.

It takes time. Early mornings, late nights, and a different level of attention. All hands on deck.

You learn them quickly. Their habits, their personalities, what is normal and what is not.

They start out needing you for everything.

And over time, they do not.

That is the goal.

Some stay a little closer than others.
